What does it take to truly build trust in home security? For Verisure, the challenge was clear: putting the people behind its 24/7 protection in the spotlight, while raising awareness around fire safety among Belgians. By combining human storytelling with data-driven insights, we brought these issues to life beyond the sector, reaching a wider audience and reinforcing Verisure’s role as a trusted voice in home safety.
Our approach:
- Inside Verisure’s highly secure monitoring room
We organised exclusive visits to Verisure’s monitoring room, offering selected journalists a behind-the-scenes look at the teams managing emergency calls 24/7. This approach highlighted the human dimension behind the technology and showcased the people protecting households every day.
- Revealing the gap between perceived and actual fire risk
We commissioned an iVOX survey to uncover the discrepancy between Belgians’ perceived fire risk and their actual level of preparedness, identifying risky behaviours and gaps in home equipment.
- Building credibility through expert partnerships
We partnered with Oscare, the Aftercare and Research Centre for People with Burns and Scars, to provide expert commentary and reinforce the message. This collaboration delivered practical fire safety recommendations by using local data for regional relevance.
Our results:
- Strong national and regional media visibility
32 features across print, online, and TV, ensuring a broad audience reach
- Coverage in leading Belgian media outlets
Including Het Laatste Nieuws, Sudinfo, La Libre, Het Nieuwsblad, Brussels Times, and Grenz Echo
- A balanced narrative combining data and human impact
Successfully positioning Verisure as both a trusted service provider and a credible voice in home safety awareness
At Brum Smith, we believe the strongest stories are built on both facts and human stories.
